Hearing is one of your most important senses, and as such it's very personal to you. It not only affects you but everyone that comes into contact with you. So it's absolutely crucial you get the best out of it.

Going private for your hearing care provides you with a great many benefits that helps you take your hearing further. It includes choice of technology, choice of style and choice of support.

Choice of Technology

There are currently over 700 models of hearing aids available privately in the UK, not including older models. As an independent provider of private hearing care, Broom Reid & Harris has full access to the entire range so that we are assured of providing you with the right technology for you.

Choice of Style

You need to be happy with the way your hearing solution looks and feels. Otherwise you'll always be conscious of it, rather than getting on with your life. Going private enables you to choose from the entire range of styles, including some of the world's most discreet models.

Choice of Manufacturer

Manufacturers compete with one another to deliver the best possible hearing solutions. This is good news for you, because hearing technology is continuously evolving. As an independent provider of hearing care, we make it our job to keep up to date with the latest offerings from each manufacturer so we can be sure our clients are being fitted with best of today's technology so we can take their hearing further.

Choice of Support

Ongoing support is essential if you are to get the best out of your hearing longer term. You never know when you'll need the support, but you need to know it's there ready when you do.

For example, your hearing might change, you might get wax in the electronics, you may encounter new situations and need advice or an adjustment to the settings.

We find that different people need different levels of support, which is why we treat everyone individually. Going private means that we can spend the time with you that you need, because we don't have Government targets to get in the way.

Continuity of Service

Getting the best out of your hearing is ongoing process. We prefer to provide our clients with continuity of service, especially during the critical period when you are first adjusting to your new hearing aids.

It enables us to get to know you and your hearing a little better, so that we can tailor the hearing system more appropriately to you. It also means that we can build on adjustments we have made or advice we have given, rather than starting all over again every time you see us.

Be Treated As A Client, Not a Patient

There's something far more life-affirming to be able to take control of your own hearing. We like to work with you to get the best out of you hearing, rather than imposing our expertise upon you. We believe that the more involved you are, the further we can take your hearing – because we'll be combining your own expertise and experience with our own. See What Our Clients Say for more details.

More confidence

Going private gives you a great deal of protection because private hearing aid providers have to be registered with their regulatory body, the Health Professions Council, that is responsible for ensuring high standards of competence and ethics. You're also protected by consumer law which dictates that the goods must be "correctly described and fit for purpose". This level of protection is only available privately.

Taking Your Hearing Further

Broom Reid & Harris have been providing hearing aids privately now for over 80 years. We still firmly believe that being private gives us the freedom we need to get the best out of your hearing.

It means the freedom to choose the best technology and style for your hearing and lifestyle. And it means the freedom to spend as much time as we need to get the best results.

In essence, it is the freedom we have to take your hearing further.
