Devon hearing aid audiologist shortlisted for UK award

Will-and-Audiologist-of-Year-2009The UK Audiologist of the Year is an annual award run by Rayovac, the world’s No.1 selling hearing aid battery producer, to give patients across the UK an opportunity to recognise the professionalism and excellence of audiologists who go above and beyond the call of duty to help.

This year was the award’s second year, with around 700 nominations from members of the public all over the country – both NHS and private. The nominations were then judged by an independent panel.

And we are very pleased to announce that our very own Will Parfitt was shortlisted to the top 12 nominations, receiving a “Certificate of Commendation” by the judges. Janet Dietz, an organist from Devon, nominated Will for his time and effort tuning and optimising her hearing aids enabling her to concentrate on her music profession. (You can read about Janet's experience under "What Our Clients Say")

Such was the exceptional standard of entries in the UK this year that the eventual UK Winner actually went on to be awarded European Audiologist of the Year, winning the award ahead of leading professionals in Austria, France, Germany, Italy, Spain and Sweden.

Broom Reid & Harris has always strived to go the extra mile for our clients because we know how important their hearing is to them. And whilst we don’t do it for recognition – it’s certainly nice when it happens! So congratulations Will!

Are you about to miss the best conversation of your life?

Woman with the conversation missing from her mouth

I had a text message the other day asking me, "Am I about to miss the best conversation of my life?"

The text was from the guy who looks after our computer network, and apparently he'd been stuck for the past 40 minutes behind a bus on the way to Dawlish, which just so happened to have one of our adverts on the back of it.

He pointed out that as a result of "our bus" he'd missed the only conversation he was actually looking forward to that day, which was rather ironic, given what the advert said…
